The Illegal Eagles

Comments Off on The Illegal Eagles

Celebrating over 50 years since the formation of the legendary West Coast Country Rock band The Eagles in 1971, The Illegal Eagles play the Grimsby Auditorium on Sunday 16 November for another outstanding show promising more of their trademark musical prowess, acute attention to detail and incredible showmanship.

This critically acclaimed show features the very best from the Eagles’ catalogue of classics including Hotel California, Desperado, Take It Easy, New Kid In Town, Life In The Fast Lane and many more…

Formed in 1998, the latest all-star line-up of the show, produced as ever by Phil Aldridge, features Tony Kiley (formerly from 80’s sensation The Blow Monkeys) on drums, Trevor Newnham (Dr Hook) vocals and bass, Greg Webb vocals and guitars, Mike Baker, vocals and guitars and Garreth Hicklin, vocals and guitars.

Garreth, Greg, Trevor, and Mike effortlessly capture the vocal style and delivery of Eagles band members Henley, Walsh, Fry, Schmidt and Meisner, and are masters of their respective instruments. The power-house rhythm section of Kiley and Newnham has added a dimension that is sensitive to the subtle needs of the Eagles’ songs and kicks hard where necessary.

The Eagles themselves were formed in Los Angeles in 1971 by founders Glenn Frey and Don Henley. With five number-one singles, six number one albums, six Grammy awards and five American Music awards, the Eagles were one of the most successful musical acts in the 1970s.

The Eagles have since gone on to become one of the world’s best-selling bands, having sold more than 200 million records, including 100 million albums sold in the US alone.

Their incredible songbook lives on in The Illegal Eagles, in a memorable evening featuring over two hours of classic country rock hits.

Create your own festive lantern to take part in the Grimsby Light Parade

Comments Off on Create your own festive lantern to take part in the Grimsby Light Parade

Join us for a special workshop to decorate your own festive lantern and be part of the Great Grimsby Light Parade at the Christmas Festival on Saturday 22 November.

Join Lucy and Wendy of What If We Create to decorate your very own willow lantern, ready to shine bright in the Great Grimsby Light Parade as part of Great Grimsby’s Christmas Festival 2025!

Workshop Date: Saturday 15 November 2025

Session Times: 10am to 11am, 11.30am to 12.30pm, 1pm to 2pm or 2.30pm to 3.30pm

Location: People Make Grimsby, Freshney Place Shopping Centre (next door to NEXT)

This free, family-friendly workshop is open to all. All materials will be provided, and you’ll have plenty of options to personalise your lantern design. Please note that crafting can get a little messy, so we recommend wearing suitable clothing – aprons will be provided.

With your finished lantern you will attend the Great Grimsby Christmas Parade on Saturday 22nd November 2025.
Participants should meet at 4:45pm at People Make Grimsby  (same location as the workshop) to collect their lanterns and prepare for the parade, which will set off at 5:15pm.

If weather permits, the parade route will take us from Freshney Place to Riverhead Square, along Victoria Street, and finally to St James Square for the Christmas tree lighting – a magical finale to the day. If weather is not on our side, the parade will still take place but just inside Freshney Place Shopping Centre.

BOOK NOW AT –

https://www.tickettailor.com/events/greatgrimsbyschristmasfestival/1898707

Please note: Booking is per lantern, not per personGroups are welcome – for example, a child and adult (or a small group) can work together to create one lantern, which counts as a single booking.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Those under 11 will need help during the workshop (15th November) and when carrying the lantern at the Parade (22nd November).
